Terraced Garden

My clients had recently had a new extension built onto their house and this led them to re-consider what they required from their garden. As part of their brief they us asked me to create an outside space for relaxing and entertaining.

I designed carefully detailed paved areas leading to less formal lawns surrounded by shrubs and herbaceous borders, thereby forming a link between the house and an old bluebell wood which borders the site. Terraces form a series of steps, echoed by different levels of box hedging, while sculptural features provide points of visual interest amongst the planting.
